Great observations, but maybe an update could one day be done to take account of two phenomena that I’m missing here. One is from physics: the relativistic concept of spacetime, the continuum made up of space and time, with implications such as the light cone which separates the really far things: those we can never be in contact with in principle, due to the constraint of the speed of light. The other concept is from economics: discounting and what it does to our decision making on things that affect the future.
